This course provides an in-depth exploration of how project management principles and tools can be aligned with sustainability objectives to deliver lasting value in today’s dynamic and environmentally conscious world. Drawing on globally recognized frameworks and practical case studies, students will develop the skills necessary to manage projects that are not only efficient and on time, but also socially responsible, environmentally sound, and economically viable.
The course examines the intersection of classical project management disciplines such as planning, execution, and risk management with emerging sustainability challenges related to climate change, resource constraints, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory pressures. Emphasis is placed on integrating sustainability thinking throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure.
Students will also gain familiarity with green project design, triple bottom line analysis, ESG and GRI reporting standards, and the use of project governance to promote long-term sustainable outcomes. The course supports both future project managers and sustainability professionals with the knowledge and tools to lead impactful projects across sectors
